Financial Support When Cancer Affects More Than Health
Cancer treatment can affect income, savings, household commitments and the family’s long-term financial plans.
LIC’s New Cancer Cover is a regular-premium, non-linked, non-participating, individual health insurance plan. It provides fixed financial benefits on the first diagnosis of specified Early Stage or Major Stage Cancer, subject to the policy definitions and conditions.
The benefit is not linked to the actual medical expenses incurred.
Key Benefits
Early Stage Cancer Benefit
On the first admissible diagnosis of a specified Early Stage Cancer:
- 25% of the Applicable Sum Assured is payable as a lump sum.
- Future premiums are waived for the next three policy years or the outstanding policy term, whichever is shorter.
Coverage for specified Major Stage Cancer may continue after an admissible Early Stage Cancer claim, subject to policy conditions.
Major Stage Cancer Benefit
On the first admissible diagnosis of specified Major Stage Cancer:
- 100% of the Applicable Sum Assured is payable as a lump sum.
- This benefit is payable irrespective of an earlier admissible Early Stage Cancer benefit.
Monthly Income for Ten Years
In addition to the Major Stage Cancer lump-sum benefit, an amount equal to 1% of the Applicable Sum Assured is payable every month for ten years.
If the insured person dies during this ten-year income period, the remaining monthly income payments continue to the nominee as and when due.
Two Cover Options
Option I – Level Sum Assured
The Basic Sum Assured remains unchanged throughout the policy term.
Option II – Increasing Sum Assured
The Sum Assured increases by 10% of the Basic Sum Assured on each of the first five policy anniversaries, provided no specified cancer has been diagnosed.
Once selected, the benefit option cannot be changed later.
Premium Certainty
Premium rates are guaranteed throughout the policy term, subject to the terms of the plan and applicable taxes.
